Kylian Mbappe answered his critics in style as he netted his first La Liga goals to give Real Madrid win over Real Betis at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Mbappe had 24 shots in La Liga before scoring his maiden goal, with eight of those having been on target, six off target and 10 blocked.

Mbappe had floundered in front of goal in Madrid’s opening three league matches, but the superstar forward hit form with two goals in the space of eight second-half minutes.

He became the fourth Madrid player in the 21st century to have scored his first two La Liga goals in the same match, after Ronaldo Nazario, Javier Hernandez, Dani Ceballos and Ruud van Nistelrooy, who actually scored a hat-trick.
