Ferguson, who will turn 83 on 31 December, admitted that he misses coaching, namely the big matches and European finals, of which he has accumulated a lot in his 27 years at Manchester United:
“Yeah, I miss it sometimes. I think the first year after retirement, I went to the European final and I said to Cathy [his late wife] ‘This is what I miss’ – big games, the European games.
“So then I went to most of the European finals because I find something I can relate to, something I would liked to have done every day. Because these are the big events that United should always be involved in,” he added a recent interview with BBC.
Legendary Scottish manager Sir Alex Ferguson has now been in retirement for 11 years. Ferguson managed United from 1986 to 2013.
During his tenure, the beloved “Fergie” led Manchester United to 13 Premier League titles, two Champions League trophies, and a multitude of other major honors.
