Manchester United have opened talks with Chelsea over a deal for Raheem Sterling that could see Jadon Sancho head to Stamford Bridge.
Raheem Sterling has been left out of Chelsea’s first two games of the season. Manager Enzo Maresca has made it clear that the England winger must find a new club if he wants to play regularly this season. Having been left out of the Blues’ plans, Sterling is open to any offers but has rejected a move to Saudi Arabia because he still wants to play at the highest level.
According to reputable source The Telegraph, MU is interested in Chelsea’s ‘waste’. Sporting director Dan Ashworth arrived in London today to negotiate with Chelsea about a player exchange. The Red Devils want to convince The Blues to exchange Sterling for Jadon Sancho.
Similar to Sterling, Sancho is also not in coach Erik ten Hag’s plans. Despite playing impressively in Dortmund on loan for the first half of the season, the English midfielder is still not appreciated by Ten Hag. Sancho was left out of the Dutch coach’s list for the opening two Premier League matches.
This exchange deal is considered feasible by experts. Because Chelsea had previously expressed interest in recruiting Sancho after knowing that this player no longer had a place at Old Trafford. Moreover, Sancho is much younger than Sterling so there is still time to improve and progress.
In addition to Sterling, MU was also interested in another Chelsea player, defender Ben Chilwell, who was also eliminated from the plan by Maresca. However, the Red Devils may no longer be interested in Chilwell because they have recruited versatile defender Mazraoui from Bayern Munich.
